Design+ : Rescue House Luang Prabang

3 years ago, Laura, a young woman from the French speaking part of Switzerland, moved to Luang Prabang. Shortly after moving there, she realized how many cats and dogs were suffering in the streets and in the houses without getting any medical help. She decided to act. Today, her "Rescue House Luang Prabang" has grown a lot and she's been able to help a lot of animals with treatments, vaccines, or simply: a loving home. Next to that she raises awareness about animal welfare in Laos. In spring of this year, she moved to a bigger place and now the 40 cats have their own cat house in the garden. We adopted both of our cats Yuki and Minu from Lauras Rescue House and have therefore been in contact for some time. When she approached me with the idea of a mural, I instantly knew I wanted to make this another "Design+"-Project. "Design+" for me means, that I support for a reduced fee or on a voluntary basis small NGOs, Startups or Businesses that strive towards sustainability. For me, this project offered the unique chance of painting my very first mural with my own design. You can see the different steps in the time lapse movie. It was so much fun!
