Unsere Freunde aus dem Töpferdorf, die wir als Freiwillige mit Grafik unterstützen, haben einen Traum: sie möchten einen professionellen Töpferofen importieren, der ihnen eine stabile Produktion ermöglicht. Der traditionelle Töpferofen im Dorf kann in der Regenzeit nicht benutzt werden und erreicht auch nicht die idealen Temperaturen für professionelle Töpferei. Um die zahlreichen Hotels und Restaurants in der Stadt zu beliefern, ist jedoch eine höhere Qualität nötig. Diese kann mit einem professionellen Ofen erreicht werden. Zudem können sie mit einer grösseren Produktion mehr Leute aus dem Dorf anstellen, die sich bereits von der Töpferei abgewandt hatten. Thieng und Keo trainieren auch Teenager und helfen Menschen auf die Beine, die in der Vergangenheit mit Problemen zu kämpfen hatten. Ein Töpferofen würde also in vielen Bereichen eine riesige Chance darstellen - und nicht zuletzt mithelfen, das 400-jährige Erbe des Dorfes zu bewahren und weiterzuentwickeln.

Our dear friends from the pottery village close to Luang Prabang that we've been supporting with graphic design in the past, have yet another dream: they would like to import a professional pottery kiln that will help them build a stable pottery production. The traditional kiln in their village can not be used in the rainy season and does not reach the required temperatures for professional pottery. In order to deliver pottery to the countless hotels and restaurants in town, a higher quality (and temperature) has to be reached - this would be possible with a professional kiln. Also, with a better production, they could hire back more people from the village who have already left pottery behind. Thieng and Keo also train teenagers and help people who have had difficulties in life in the past. Therefore, a kiln would have a substancial impact on so many levels for the village - and above all, it would help them preserve their 400-year old pottery heritage and develop it further.
We are convinced of this vision and we support Thieng and Keo in their dream.
