Von September 2012 reisten wir während einem Jahr von Thailand zurück in die Schweiz, soweit möglich über Land - zu zweit auf einem Motorrad (Honda Transalp), mit Zelt, Kochsachen, Kleidern, ... Nach einer Rundreise durch Südostasien entdeckten wir den indischen Subkontinenten, reisten dann in den Orient und von dort aus durch Osteuropa bis in die Schweiz. Aus geografischen oder geopolitischen Gründen mussten wir unterwegs zwei Mal verschiffen: einmal von Thailand nach Indien, das zweite Mal von Indien nach Dubai. From September 2012 we traveled during 1 year from Thailand back to Switzerland - when ever possible over land - two people on one motorbike (Honda Transalp), with all of our luggage, tent and cooking stuff. After a loop in Southeastasia we explored the Indian Subcontinent, then traveled through the Orient, and then drove towards Switzerland through Eastern Europe. Because of geographical or geopolitical reasons we had to ship the motorbike two times: Once from Thailand to India, the second time from India to Dubai. We wrote these blogposts during our journey. Von der Insel zurück auf dem Festland fahren wir während zwei Tagen nach Zagreb und erleben dabei Sonne und Regen, Meer, Stadt und Land, Felder und Wälder, bevor wir uns ins Hauptstadtleben stürzen und uns wundern, wohin eigentlich die Zeit verschwindet.

Grün, so weit das Auge reicht – das ist Slowenien, unser 18. Land. Hügel, ähnlich denjenigen des Emmentals, ziehen sich bis an den Horizont, glasklare Flüsse plätschern dazwischen. Vieles erinnert an die Schweiz, und doch gibt es genug Neues zu entdecken.

Green as far as the eye can see - this is Slovenia, our 18th country. Hills, similar to those of the Emmental, stretch to the horizon, crystal clear rivers babble in between. Much is reminiscent of Switzerland, and yet there is enough new to discover.

Plötzlich geht alles ganz schnell: Drei Tage Fahren mit erstem Kulturschock bringen uns über Österreich in die Schweiz, die uns wettermässig so gar nicht herzlich willkommen heissen will. Umso wärmer fällt die Begrüssung unserer Familie und Freunde aus.

Suddenly everything happens very quickly: three days of intensive driving with a first culture shock bring us via Austria back to Switzerland, which doesn't want to give us a warm welcome in terms of weather. All the warmer is the greeting from our family and friends.
